Spring is here, woohoo! I’m so looking forward to consistently warmer weather as spring turns into summer. I feel like this year’s unique combination of trends is just my style — from 40′s dresses and midi skirts to 70′s pieces — I’m a happy girl. When I moved, I got rid of most of my wardrobe, leaving me with the bare necessities (a few tees and jeans), so I’ll be on the lookout for great additions.

I’ve touched on some of my favorite spring transition looks and PANTONE Spring 2011 color finds already, but it’s been a while!

1. Neutrals

Neutral pieces can be beige, cream, tan, nude, brown, and everything in-between. This is probably my favorite trend this year! The awesome thing about it: Your neutral pieces will become wardrobe essentials.

2. The Wide Leg Pant

This 70′s throwback has me swooning. I’m really digging how the 70′s are back this year, but without the gaudiness (hey there, 1995). What really sells me on this style of pant is that it’s so flattering on all shapes and sizes, and well, I’m pretty short, so wearing these will make my legs looks miles long. Skinnies make me look so stumpy.

3. The Wedge

Oh, gimme some wedge! I’m still all over the platform pump, but I’m really excited about the wedge coming back. Whether an espadrille, or something sexy and strappy, the wedge is the perfect spring shoe. Way more flattering than flatforms.

4. Florals & Other Prints

I’m usually not a girly-girl, but the floral prints I’ve been seeing have me all aflutter. Florals in spring may not be groundbreaking, but still. So purdy! I also like seeing tribal and 70′s inspired prints, I’m craving some print mix-n-match!

5. Lace

Again, not a girly-girl, but I love how lace is popping up all over the place! It’s so classy — no granny lace here. Lace adds such a nice bit of texture and interest to an ensemble.
